The 7th annual VLAFF, scheduled from September 10 - 20, 2009, will build on its reputation for excellence in cutting-edge programming by presenting screenings and events at various venues in Vancouver. VLAFF AUDIENCE
- Last year's festival was attended by an audience of 4,780 actively-engaged film lovers, filmmakers, actors, programmers, industry representatives, academics, community members and journalists.
- VLAFF's audience includes the dynamic and rapidly growing Latin American population, as well as a large number of non-Hispanic Canadians of various ages and backgrounds who have an interest in Latin American cultures.
- VLAFF's audience is steadily growing. Last year's ticket sales increased by an impressive 40% over the previous year. We expect our 2009 attendance to increase by a further 15%, to 5,500.
- VLAFF has attracted attention that extends well beyond our borders. Last year our website received over 228,000 unique visits from all over the world!
