At the age of 48, Canela, an architect from the city of Rosario, decides to live her life openly as a trans woman. As she tools around town in her bright clementine-coloured Chevy pickup truck, Canela takes us on an incredible tour of the intimate spheres of her work, friends, and family. The documentary narrates a crucial turning point in the life of Canela where she is struggling with the decision of whether or not to have gender reassignment surgery. As she consults openly with healthcare professionals, her sons, and old friends, she realizes something about desire that she didn’t expect.

Del Valle’s film manages to portray the complex implications that such profound personal changes entail […] Del Valle portrays Canela and her circumstances with a tenderness that is unusual. And always with humor, taking a healthy distance from the dramatic tone of many films of similar subjects” – Juan Pablo Cinelli, Página12, 2021
