Nanichi Nieves Díaz is a filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. A graduate of the School of Plastic Arts and Design with a concentration in Image and Movement, they direct short films, music videos, and cultural projects, merging digital, analog, and traditional techniques. Nanichi was a post-production intern and animation artist for the documentary Todas Las Flores by Dr. Carmen Oquendo-Villar. They also directed a retro, mixed-media music video for the indie synth pop band Epilogio. Their latest project, La Cresta, is an experimental animation exploring gender identity from a queer and non-binary perspective.
