Edison Cájas (Santiago, Chile, 1982) Filmmaker and Philosophy graduate. He specialized in Film Directing at the EICTV in Cuba. His short films “Wednesday 8th / Tuesday 7th”, “Titans”, and “The Serpent’s Rings” have been selected at festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand, São Paulo, Toronto, Biarritz, and Toulouse, among others. “The Waltz of the Useless” (2013), his first documentary feature, premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, was nominated for the Platino Awards for Best Documentary of the Year, and won multiple awards at festivals such as Biarritz, Mar del Plata, Florianópolis, Doc Buenos Aires, FIDOCS, and Valdivia, among others. His work focuses on telling intimate stories, drawing from the imagery of his childhood and Chile’s broader political history. He is currently developing Medusa, his first fiction feature film.
