But Areo will not be travelling alone: he will be accompanied by Ayned\, a rebellious teenager who lives in the city\, cares only about her mobile phone and is estranged from the traditions of her people. DESCRIPTION:Bassist\, composer and producer from Brazil\, Linaldo Sans has been in the music scene for over twenty years\, and since 2019 is based in Vancouver. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with specialization in electric bass guitar\, and also arrangement and composition extension courses. \nIn Brazil\, he had an opportunity to study and work with renowned musicians and artists such as Alberto Luccas\, Victor Alcantara\, Julio Cesar Figueiredo\, and Bob Wyatt. In 2018 was selected to intensive composition classes with Celso Mojola after his arrangements and compositions were analysed by the internationally noted composer. \nAmid recordings and shows across Canada\, he also had performed at TD Canada Jazz Festival\, Tofi no Jazz Festival\, Tallinn Music Week\, CBC Road to the Junos beyond many other festivals. He has collaborations with several touring artists across Canada and America\, and with local artists such as Sadé Awele\, Coco Jafro\, Lussilia\, Myles Bigelow\, and Serengeti. \nOwner of an authentic versatility and approach\, he has brought in his performances the flavour of Brazilian music with a mix of jazz\, soul and funk\, showing a few of his musical influences.

This film\, directed by his adopted son Fabien Pisani\, combines interviews with musical luminaries such as Serrat\, Chico Buarque\, Harry Belafonte and Fito Páez\, alongside intimate moments of Milanés in his final years\, looking frail and reflecting on the fading Cuban Utopia. It’s a striking cinematic portrait of the artist. As memories of the past surface\, so does the broad disillusionment of the singer and his peers\, a generation of artists who were once devoted to the Revolution but who now question its legacy.
