KUAYÉ is a short documentary film that is filled with the rhythm, flavor and joy of the music of the Colombian Pacific. Fredy “Sebastián” Cuero, charismatic artist and marimba player, guides us from Guapi, Cauca, to Cali. With his contagious smile and optimism, Sebastián brings the culture of his land, known for its marimba masters, with the dream of being one of the best in the world. His goal is to face the demanding public of the Petronio Alvarez Festival, the greatest expression of Pacific culture. The importance of the festival is highlighted by figures such as Nidia Góngora, Hugo Candelario and Esteban Copete.

KUAYÉ es un cortometraje documental que se llena del ritmo, sabor y alegría de la música del Pacífico colombiano. Fredy “Sebastián” Cuero, carismático artista y marimbero, nos guía desde Guapi, Cauca, hasta Cali. Con su contagiosa sonrisa y optimismo, Sebastián trae la cultura de su tierra, conocida por sus maestros de la marimba, con el sueño de ser uno de los mejores del mundo. Su meta es enfrentar al exigente público del Festival Petronio Álvarez, la mayor expresión de la cultura pacífica. La importancia del festival es resaltada por figuras como Nidia Góngora, Hugo Candelario y Esteban Copete.

Born in the city of Cali, Colombia, he completed his training in cinematography in Colombia and Argentina. He is an audiovisual creator with extensive experience in documentary projects, showing a marked interest in discovering and sharing authentic stories of life, capturing the emotional essence of the narratives he presents.
