When her grandmother becomes seriously ill, Camila is forced to move to Buenos Aires, leaving behind a close-knit group of friends and a liberal public high school for a traditional private institution. She finds herself surrounded by more conservative classmates, some of whom admire her political outspokenness and others who resent her for it. Camila’s boundary-pushing temperament is put to the test as she deals with the jarring change of scenery, and the alluring set of possibilities and experiences that lie in wait in the big city.

Camila Comes Out Tonight is a vivid tale of the whirlwind of feelings that is adolescence, as well as an intimate portrait of the contradictions of the Argentinian society. It touches on major topics such as sexuality, abortion, and colonization through the personal story of a young woman trying to find her place in society. – TROMSO International Film Festival
