Vitória Vasconcellos

Vitória Vasconcellos is an actor and writer-director from Recife, Brazil whose body of work focuses on genre hybrid stories of female resilience and the peculiar poetry of human connection. She is a 2021 Toronto International Film Festival – TIFF Filmmaker Lab alum
and was awarded the TIFF Canada Goose Share Her Journey Fellowship for her project “Bleed, Don’t Die”, which premiered at Fantaspoa, the largest genre film festival in Latin America. Her short “Pathei Mathos” won top prizes and nominations at North America’s foremost student film festivals (Ivy, NFFTY and Scout) and her short “Solum” won a number of awards at two of Brazil’s leading festivals (CINE PE and Curta Taquary). She graduated with honors in 2020 from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where she was one in 50 students awarded with the Global Scholar medal, and attended the Stella Adler acting conservatory professional program. Vitória has been awarded two times the Emerging Creator Scholarship by NALIP – National Association of Latino Independent Producers. She is an alum of the Kino La Guarimba film residency (Italy), the Locarno Basecamp program and of the DISFF Pitching Lab (Greece).
