Marino Mariano is a fisherman and musician from Collantes an afro-mexican community on the Coast of Oaxaca. He is illiterate, yet has composed over 46 songs. Today, at 68, he wants to record the ones he still remembers before he forgets them. On this path, Marino finds other musicians The Authentics who as a reflection of their own history also seek to leave their print on their music.

UAN CRISTÓBAL JASSO AGUILAR was born in Mexico City in 1986. He is a Sociologist from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana – Iztapalapa (2012). Since 2010, he began collaborating in Ñuu Kaan community radio in Oaxaca´s Coast where he worked to amplify the voices and music of afromexican and indigenous people. In 2015 he obtained a grant from “Ambulante Más Allá” as an editor and sound designer for the short/documentary “Caricia”. In 2016, he obtained a PhD in Rural Sociology, and after that he started the production of his first feature: Marino & The Authentics. Currently he is Director of Ecology in the municipality of Pinotepa Nacional.
