When their first baby is born with both female and male features, a young couple faces a huge dilemma: while he thinks they should assign a sex surgically to their child as doctors advise, she gets to know other intersex people and listens to their experiences, starting to believe that they should let their baby’s body as it is. Their differences go stronger and a decision has to be made, the most difficult of their life.

Alejandro Zuno

Mexican director Alejandro Zuno made his feature debut with Un mundo para mí (Newborn) at the 2024 Mar del Plata International Film Festival and achieved significant recognition, including Best Screenplay, the Audience Award, and the Queer Camilo Award at the Huelva Film Festival. His short films Abrir la tierra (Open the Earth) and Oasis received major accolades, including the Ariel Award from the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences. Zuno is one of the directors behind El secreto del río (The Secret of the River), the hit Netflix series, as well as Tengo que morir todas las noches (I Have to Die Every Night), which won Best Director at Series Mania.
