The principal and teachers of an elementary school receive devastating news: the mother of a 9-year-old student suffered a terrible accident on their way to pick her up. While they try to find other relatives without success, together they build a space of support and care for Bianca.

Carmela Sandberg is an Uruguayan actress, director and journalist based in Buenos Aires. She wrote, directed and produced the short film “The Prospect”, premiered at BAFICI23, winner of special mentions from RECAM and SIGNIS, and participated in more than 40 festivals where she received 15 awards between mentions and prizes. “The absence” is his second short film, while he is developing his first feature film, ‘Las que cuidan’, highlighted by PROA foundation in 2023 and supervised by Romina Paula.
