The [Black] man who fell to earth. STARLIT follows the journey of an afronaut from another galaxy who escapes to Earth and discovers the beauty of humanity through art and the constellation-shine of the lights of New York City.
Um homem [negro] cai sobre a terra. STARLIT segue a jornada de um afronauta de outra galáxia que escapa para a Terra e descobre a beleza da humanidade por meio da arte e da constelação-brilho das luzes de Nova Iorque.
Raul Perez is a Brazilian screenwriter, director, and producer, he signs scripts for shows at Paramount+ and Netflix. He is one of the writers of the hit Netflix Brazil series “Sintonia”. He graduated from the intensive Filmmaking course at the New York Film Academy on a scholarship exchange. As a producer, he has worked in markets both in Brazil and abroad, such as Ventana Sur and the American Film Market. In 2020, he was selected for both the scriptwriter development labs offered by Netflix and TV Globo. He’s a writer/collaborator on the documentary Germano Black Society, selected for the IDFA Forum 2020 and winner of the IDFA Bertha Fund 2021. He is the co-founder of Mundi, a production company focused on the development of Afro-Brazilian narratives, and of Nicho 54, an institute to promote the inclusion of Black professionals in Brazil’s film industry.
