Starring Chilean actress Aline Kuppenheim, to who the Festival dedicated a Spotlight in 2023. 

Inspired by real events: Ximena, a successful psychiatrist, receives the unexpected visit of her eldest daughter, Tamara, whom she hasn’t seen in a long time. While she takes refuge at her mother’s house, an investigation is launched: Tamara’s newborn son disappeared under strange circumstances within the sect. Both the justice system and Ximena will try to uncover the fate of the missing baby.

SOFIA PALOMA GOMEZ, CAMILO BECERRA

Filmmaker and teacher. Actress from ARCIS University and Master in Documentary Film from the Universit y of Chile. Director and editor of the feature documentary “ Quiero morirme dentro de un tiburón ”, which participated in several festivals such as Visions du Réel, FIDOCS, La Habana , among others. H er second documentary, The Inner Rebellion is in postproduc tion and has been selected for several work in progress such as Link at FIDBA and Docs Lab at DOCSMX, among others. Her second fiction is Maybe it’s True What They Say About Us.

Camilo Becerra Filmmaker and teacher. Graduate d in Film Studies at ARCIS University. Master in Film Scriptwriting, with studies at the EICTV of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. His first feature film as screenwriter and director, “Perro muerto” (2010), won national and international awards, such as Best Chilean Film at the Valdivia Film Festival, and Best First Feature at the Trieste Film Festival. His third feature film, Maybe it’s True What They Say About Us is inspired by the Colliguay Sect case.
