Our illusions rewrite the tracks
The curtains rise, revealing the magic of cinema: textures, stories, connections we feel from our seats. In this selection, film channels our devotions, frustrations, losses, and dreams. Honouring their identity and sense of belonging, these Latinx creators nurture their illusions and ingeniously express and overcome personal and social barriers. Throughout this program, the setting transforms into a beach, a karaoke bar, a mountain, a river, or even a broken-down van, bringing us closer to characters who shine with their own light, amplifying the familiarity of our differences and the wonderful possibility of rewriting our journey through the screen.

Emechiche,The rebirth of White-headed

The Colombian Montes de María are home to the Emechiche (Saguinus oedipus). An endangered species, we will observe their complex relationship with their young and their environment. We will analyse their survival, allowing us to witness their feelings and wild instincts.
Juan Camilo González (1984) is a multifaceted filmmaker renowned for his innovative approach to cinematography. The feature film debut is La Montaña del Silencio (2014), following the short films Zapatos y la mágica aventura de su creación (2019), Dientes Peludos (2024) and Emechiche, el renacer de los cabeciblancos (2025). He was the general producer of the short films La Ballena Escarlata (2017), Lea Salvaje (2019) and Los Hermanos Calavera (2020). He is also the producer of Semillas (2025), directed by Eliana Niño. He is currently post-producing the feature films La Piel Mordida and Floppy the Robot. He is also developing the films Los monstruos de las estrellas and La mujer de los peces.

Miriam

In this video letter, the director addresses her aunt who was killed in a femicide years ago. Through a performance in which she projects the last Facebook message her aunt sent her, the young filmmaker reconstructs her own story, marked by the fear of living in a country dangerous for women and by the complexity of being the only woman in her family.
Karla Condado, director and cinematographer. The documentary “Yaxche’oob,” in which she participated as cinematographer, was nominated for an Ariel for Best Documentary Short by the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences. She was beneficiary of the PECDA fund for her project “Miriam” that was premiered at the Berlinale Shorts 76.

After her mother’s death, Ramona runs away to the sanctuary of the Difunta Correa —an Argentine folk saint— in search of answers. There, an enigmatic encounter plants a new seed of hope. Over time, she comes to understand that her promise was fulfilled in a mysterious and revealing way.
Román Ruberti Godoy is a director and screenwriter who trained at ENERC. He has worked on advertising campaigns for the fashion and wine industries. Volver a verte, his first short film, kicks off a trilogy exploring rural childhoods and hope. In 2025, he served on the FICG’s Mezcal Youth Jury, representing ENERC and cinema from Argentina’s interior. He is currently developing the second short film in the trilogy, Piedra y camino.
Jacaré

Pedro sells drinks in the traffic jam of a highway that takes thousands of people to the coast during the summer. Driven by curiosity and desire, he embarks on an adventure that transforms him deeply.
Victor Quintanilha is a Brazilian filmmaker and sound designer who has worked on over 51 feature films, including “Bacurau” and “Iceberg” (IDFA 2015). His shorts “Little Portugal” and “Jacaré” both premiered at Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, where they received Special Mentions.

Ángel (9) and Kimberly (11), affected by migration, turn a van into their imaginary spaceship to search for Sofía (9), who returned to Colombia. Between reality and fantasy, they explore identity, belonging, and friendship amid displacement.
Meme Cabello and Antonia Martínez Valls are a creative duo who came together while studying Film Directing at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Since their early days in the audiovisual world, they have been drawn to themes exploring identity, childhood, women’s sexuality, and adolescence.
In addition, the directors lead an audiovisual project called ‘MEMORA,’ which encompasses photography, music, and video art. They have directed and edited multiple music videos, editorial photoshoots, and reels.
There's many a slip between cup and lip

Since the departure of his wife four years ago, Julio Garzón (75) has not finished renovating his house. During the day, absorbed in his routine, he is by himself accompanied only with his cat “gatita”; at night, he does his performance, whispering the possibility of a new companion.
Stefania Innocenti Costa (1991) is a director and screenwriter trained at the Escuela Nacional de Cine in Venezuela (2015). Her work is characterized by the exploration of different narrative forms and the blending of genres, with the aim of inviting viewers to experience a range of sensations and to connect with the filmmaker’s intimate, curious, and personal gaze. Through her projects, she seeks to expand the boundaries of cinematic language and create emotional bridges between the screen and the audience.
