The Digital Nook / El Rinconcito Is Live!

A space for exploration, learning, and solidarity with Indigenous Peoples is now available on our website.

If you joined us at VLAFF this September, you may have encountered The Nook / El Rinconcito: a charming wooden cart filled with books, a place to sit, and an invitation to explore Indigenous creative work. We’re excited to share that the Digital Nook is now live, extending that invitation beyond the festival!

Explore a directory of Indigenous artists, films, poetry, music, food resources, and calls to action from across Turtle Island and Abya Yala. Find your next read, meet a new favourite musician, or connect with work supporting Indigenous sovereignty.

The Nook grows from VLAFF’s ongoing collaboration with Taajuu Consulting and our practice of Living Land Acknowledgements. It reflects a commitment to turn reflection into ongoing relationships, learning, and action.

Alongside the directory, you’ll find our Living Land Acknowledgement, the story behind this collaboration, and the history of the section curated by Akira Iahtail and Masa’n Selene Galindo, Films from Turtle Island & Beyond.

We invite you to spend some time exploring and following your curiosity somewhere new.

This space will continue to grow. Have feedback or suggestions? Write to us at info@vlaff.org.
