José has led an apparently happy life with his loving wife, Elena. After she unexpectedly dies of a heart attack the night of his 65th birthday celebration, José can’t bear living without her. While morosely sorting through her belongings, he finds Elena’s diaries. As he reads them, he comes across her descriptions of having had dalliances with three different lovers during their marriage. With his world turned upside down, José decides to go on a road trip through Baja California to find all three men in an attempt to set the record straight.
A heartwarming and hilarious story about marriage, aging, family, and how sometimes “a little lie helps”.
