Welcome to the 21st edition of the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival!

From September 7 -17 we will present a full in-person festival in Vancouver, as well as a series of online dialogues with filmmakers from across Canada and Latin America.

Festival Pass (available August 11 onwards): $140

Student Pass: $85 (For students 18 years and older. You will be asked to show ID when you pick up the pass).

PASS RULES: Access for one to all screenings from September 7-17, 2023. When possible, passholders will be admitted into the cinema ahead of the ticket-holder lineup.

*Does not include admission to Opening Night Party. Tickets to the FOX Cabaret may be purchased separately for $20, beginning on August 10.

Festival Passes ordered online will be available for pick-up at the Will Call table at SFU Woodward’s on Opening Night or at The Cinematheque (September 8 onwards). In order to reduce waste, if you have a lanyard from a previous year or another festival, please bring it with you to use!!

Passholders must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the screening time. A Festival Pass does not guarantee seating to sold-out shows if the passholder arrives beyond the cut-off time.

Festival Pass includes 2023 VLAFF Membership.

Sliding Scale Tickets

We have implemented a sliding scale this year, so that as many people as possible can access the screenings and those who can afford a bit more, can support that way, too.

The Cinematheque: $13 / $15 / $18 / $21
Cineworks: $10 / $13 / $15

Youth (under 18 years): $10 (visit www.vlaff.org for the list of films Rated for Youth)

Seating at the venues is on a first-come, first served basis. We strongly encourage you to buy your tickets in advance.

TICKET PACKS | Order and redeem online!!

Ticket packs must be redeemed online for specific films in advance of the screenings you wish to see. It’s even easier than it sounds… just purchase the ticket pack online and then log in again to your Elevent account to select the screenings you’d like to attend. You do not have to select all the tickets at the same time.

Purchase individual tickets and ticket packs by cash or credit card at The Cinematheque during the festival. (Festival Passes are only available for purchase online.) Note: We are not able to accept payment via Debit cards.

Subject to availability, day-of-show tickets may be purchased throughout the day at the Venue Box Office, beginning 30 minutes prior to the first screening of the day. Please check the schedule as opening times vary.

Sold Out Shows | Rush Tickets

If advance tickets for a film are sold out, rush tickets may be available at the door. Any unclaimed seats will be released just prior to screening time to those in the Rush Ticket Line. Please note: you must be standing in the line in order to purchase a ticket and there is a limit of one rush ticket per person. To speed entry, cash is appreciated.

Live Stream Q&As with filmmakers
Keep an eye on the daily festival newsletter and on the film pages for the links to the live stream Q&As with guest directors (which will usually take place the following day after the Cinematheque screening, schedule TBA). Recordings will also be available on the VLAFF Facebook page and YouTube channel.

2023-2024 VLAFF MEMBERSHIP

As a registered charitable society, the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival screens films that have not been rated by Consumer Protection BC. Under BC law, any person wishing to see these unclassified films must be a member of the VLAFF society and be 18 years of age or older.

This annual membership is valid for all events throughout the year, including the 11-day film festival and all online presentations. Members must be 18 years or older.

Please carry your membership card or digital receipt with you at all times, as you will be required to show it at all in-person VLAFF screenings, including special screenings throughout the year.

Basic Festival Membership: $3 – Available for purchase during the festival season from Sept 7-17. The basic membership is valid until August 31, 2024.

Annual Membership: $10 – Available for purchase year-round. Includes the Festival Brochure mailed to your home. Valid for one year from date of purchase.

All membership fees go directly to supporting VLAFF programs. Thank you!!
