Sacharuna Shorts is a snapshot of travels and collaborative audiovisual and stop-motion initiatives throughout the Peruvian Amazon. The shorts included were created as part of workshops with Indigenous youth and adults, developed for the preservation and promotion of intergenerational and intercultural dialogue that (re)values ​​the diverse ancestral knowledge of communities in the Peruvian Amazon.

The screenings will be accompanied by a discussion on participatory filmmaking.

All films are subtitled in English.

Putumayo is a river full of ancient histories and customs that have survived despite the onslaughts of slavery and colonialism. This documentary introduces us to a Putumayo family whose members share their memories about what has been their reality.

STOP-MOTION

These stop-motion shorts were collaboratively created with the Indigenous communities of Puerto Franco, Flor de Agosto, and Puerto Aurora in the Putumayo River basin.
