The camera captures the final breaths of the “Nakagawa” Photo Studio, the first photography studio in northern Peru, 91 years after it was founded. The studio employees reveal their memories surrounding its founder, a Japanese immigrant by the name of Masao Nakagawa. These memories further reveal the story of a place destined to be forgotten in time in a world overwhelmed by modernity.
La cámara capta los últimos respiros del Estudio Fotográfico “Nakagawa”, el primer estudio de fotografía del norte del Perú, 91 años después de su fundación. Los empleados del estudio revelan sus recuerdos en torno a su fundador, un inmigrante japonés llamado Masao Nakagawa. Estos recuerdos revelan aún más la historia de un lugar destinado a ser olvidado en el tiempo en un mundo abrumado por la modernidad.
Hideki Nakazaki
Currently studying in the regular course, the specialty of direction, in the EICTV. With studies in documentary creation in Argentina and participant of different laboratories such as Acampadoc in Panama and Transfrontera in Chile. He develops cultural management projects in northern Peru, linked to the Nikkei community in Latin America.
