Welcome to the 20th Anniversary of the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival!

From August 25 – September 4 we will present a full in-person festival in Vancouver, as well as a selection of films available for viewing online from across Canada.

FESTIVAL SUPERPASS | Limited quantities available

Enjoy access to all the festival screenings and events, and alternate between watching at home or in the cinema.

Student Pass: $90 (for students 18 years and older. You will be asked to show ID when you pick up the pass).

Access for one to all online and in-person events during the 20th Vancouver Latin American Film Festival from August 25 – September 4, 2022. When possible, passholders will be admitted into the cinema ahead of the ticket-holder lineup. Includes parties, Q&As, and filmmaker talks. Available in Canada only.

Festival Passes ordered online will be available for pick-up at the Will Call table at SFU Woodward’s on Opening Night or at The Cinematheque (August 26 onwards).

Passholders must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the screening time to claim an entrance ticket from the Box Office. A Festival Pass does not guarantee seating to sold-out shows if the passholder arrives beyond the cut-off time.

Festival Pass includes 2022 VLAFF Membership.

Seating at the venues is on a first-come, first served basis. All attendees are still recommended to wear masks when inside the lobby and cinema, if they are able to do so safely. We strongly encourage you to buy your tickets in advance.

VIRTUAL SCREENING TICKETS | Available for viewing from within Canada only

Between August 25 – September 4, you will be able to watch a selection of films online through the CineSend screening portal. Films are geo-blocked to Canada. Once you click PLAY on the film, you will have 72 hours to watch it.

MIX ‘N’ MATCH TICKET PACKS | Order and redeem online!!

Valid for tickets to both online and in-person screenings. Ticket packs must be redeemed online for specific films in advance of the screenings you wish to see. It’s even easier than it sounds… just purchase the ticket pack online and then log in again to your Elevent account to select the screenings you’d like to attend. You do not have to select all the tickets at the same time.

TICKETS AT THE DOOR

Subject to availability, day-of-show tickets may be purchased throughout the day at the Venue Box Office, beginning 30 minutes prior to the first screening of the day. Please check the schedule as opening times vary.

Sold Out Shows | Rush Tickets

If advance tickets for a film are sold out, rush tickets may be available at the door. Any unclaimed seats will be released just prior to screening time to those in the Rush Ticket Line. Please note: you must be standing in the line in order to purchase a ticket and there is a limit of one rush ticket per person. To speed entry, cash is appreciated.

LATECOMERS ARE NOT GUARANTEED SEATING.

Live Stream Q&As with filmmakers
Keep an eye on the daily festival newsletter and on the film pages for the links to the live stream Q&As with guest directors (which will usually take place the following day after the Cinematheque screening, schedule TBA). Recordings will also be available on the VLAFF Facebook page and YouTube channel.

2022-2023 VLAFF MEMBERSHIP

As a registered charitable society, the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival screens films that have not been rated by Consumer Protection BC. Under BC law, any person wishing to see these unclassified films must be a member of the VLAFF society and be 18 years of age or older.

This annual membership is valid for all events throughout the year, including the 11-day film festival and all online presentations. Members must be 18 years or older

Please carry your membership card or digital receipt with you at all times, as you will be required to show it at all in-person VLAFF screenings, including special screenings throughout the year.

Basic Festival Membership: $2 – Available for purchase during the festival season from Aug 1-Sept 4. The basic membership is valid until July 31, 2023.

Annual Membership: $10 –  Available for purchase year-round. Includes the Festival Brochure mailed to your home. Valid for one year from date of purchase.

All membership fees go directly to supporting VLAFF programs. Thank you!!
