Welcome to the 19th Vancouver Latin American Film Festival, our second-ever hybrid festival!
Between August 26 – September 5, you will be able to watch most of the films* online through the CineSend screening portal. Films are geo-blocked to Canada. Once you click PLAY on the film, you will have 72 hours to watch it.
*A couple of films will only be available in-person due to the filmmakers’ request.
We will also be hosting a selection of in-person events at The Cinematheque from Aug 27 – Sept 5. In compliance with current health protocols, the 155-seat Cinematheque theatre has been reduced to a maximum 78-person capacity. Seating will be on a first-come, first served basis. We strongly encourage you to buy your tickets in advance.

HYBRID FESTIVAL SUPERPASS – LIMITED AVAILABILITY. Enjoy access to all the festival screenings and events, and alternate between watching at home or at The Cinematheque.

MIX ‘N’ MATCH 10-Ticket Pack – LIMITED AVAILABILITY. Enjoy ten tickets to the festival, any way you’d like!
Valid for tickets to both online and in-person screenings. Ticket packs must be redeemed in advance for tickets to the specific films you wish to see. It’s even easier than it sounds… just purchase the ticket pack online and then log in again to your Elevent account to select the screenings you’d like to attend. You do not have to select all ten tickets at the same time. Available in Canada only.

*In compliance with COVID-19 prevention protocols, seating at the cinema will be on a first-come, first served basis with one seat left empty between groups. All attendees are still recommended to wear masks when inside the lobby and cinema, if they are able to do so safely. We strongly encourage you to buy your tickets in advance.
Live Stream Q&As
Keep an eye on the daily festival newsletter and on the film pages for the links to the live stream Q&As with guest directors (which will usually take place the following day after the Cinematheque screening, schedule TBA). Recordings will also be available on the VLAFF Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Sold Out Screenings at the Cinematheque
There may be a few last-minute “rush” tickets sold at the door of the theatre. However, as we are already operating at just 50% capacity, we recommend buying a ticket to the online screening instead.
2021-2022 VLAFF MEMBERSHIP
As a registered charitable society, the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival screens films that have not been rated by Consumer Protection BC. Under BC law, any person wishing to see these unclassified films must be a member of the VLAFF society and be 18 years of age or older.
This annual membership is valid for all events throughout the year, including the 11-day film festival and all online presentations. Members must be 18 years or older.
Please carry your membership card or receipt with you at all times, as you will be required to show it at all in-person VLAFF screenings, including special screenings throughout the year.
Basic Festival Membership: $2 – Available for purchase during the festival season from Aug 1-Sept 5. The basic membership is valid until July 31, 2022.
Annual Membership: $10 – Available for purchase year-round. Includes the Festival Brochure mailed to your home. Valid for one year from date of purchase.
All membership fees go directly to supporting VLAFF programs. Thank you!!
