In need of more work, a humble labourer in rural Córdoba seeks a job with a successful real estate developer in the area, but it may not be the solution he had hoped for. Set against the backdrop of raging wildfires, the film is visually arresting and carries a profoundly affecting message.

With a theme that is even more current today than when it was filmed, the film has a searing dry tone like its landscape, but for the field labourer protagonist, “the procession spirals inward.” – Horacio Bernades, Página 12

Un humilde trabajador rural del interior de Córdoba comienza a trabajar para un exitoso empresario inmobiliario de la zona, con quien descubrirá de lo que es capaz para salir de la precariedad.

Martín Heredia studied film directing at ENERC in Buenos Aires and the UNC in Córdoba, Argentina. He directed the short film Partenza en Italia. He co-directed the film essay Visions of the Way in Spain and participated in the Curso de Desarrollo de Proyectos Cinematográficos Iberoamericanos 2018, organized by the Ibermedia Program. Bajo la corteza, his first work of fiction, was awarded with the prize to the Production of First Work Films of the Polo Audiovisual Córdoba 2018 and declared to be of interest by INCAA.
