The theme is ‘’Crear en Libertad’’ – ‘’Finding freedom through creation’’. Addressing the extraordinary times we are living through now, the contest is intended to offer a space to explore how artists are still creating art during these very restricted times that we have never seen before in our generation in Canada.
GUIDELINES
- Shorts made by independent Latin-Canadian filmmakers or Canadian filmmakers engaging Latin American themes or content
- Maximum running time: 5 minutes
- Ages 18+
- Experimental, narrative, documentary or animation
- Created during the COVID-19 emergency period*

A selection of the submitted films will be screened online during the 18th Vancouver Latin American Film Festival, August 27 – September 6, 2020.
The winning film will receive a cash prize of $300 CAD (Three hundred)
